Ordinarily a bubble's membrane is too thin to have enough dye molecules in the optical path to lend appreciable color. One needs a dye with an outrageously high epsilon (optical abosorbance) incorporated into the surfactant itself. Why is it that no matter what color of bubble bath you use the bubbles are always white?
Put a colored bulb in the socket in the bathroom, and try your experiment again!
